Birthday Wishes...SFYTT style

Good Morning!

Some more Verve-y goodness to show you today!  This is my card for Jen's November SFYTT.  And, as usual, I am just getting it finished at the last minute....not like I have a whole month to get it done!

Last minute or not, I did get it done, as I have all year so far!

It's a good thing I am not mailing this card.....I'd get charged extra postage for sure!  It's a heavy one!

My Go-To set from Verve has to be Bloom & Grow.  I just love the flowers, and the leaves!

I started by stamping the leaves in Old Olive ink onto some SU Whisper White, and the flowers in Regal Rose, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry and Elegant Eggplant ink.  Then, they were cut out using the Elegant Leaves die and the Floral Circles die.

The paper is from My Minds Eye Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky.

After getting all these panels mounted, I added some lace from KaiserCraft, then added the sentiment from Amazing Wishes.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Have a great day!

stamps - bloom & grow (verve), amazing wishes (verve)
paper - kraft, old olive, happy go lucky (my minds eye)

You Go Girl!

Good Evening!

I've got two sleeping kiddos, and two sleeping dogs, so I figured I'd sit down and get some blogging done!

I have actually got my cards finished for the Viva La Verve November Sketch Challenges!  The month always starts off so well....then I just don't get around to finishing!  Not this time!  I got em done!

Here is what I created for the November Week 3 sketch!

I strayed from my typical Christmas card to make this card, perfect for a little baby girl.....and I just might be meeting one soon!

I stamped this adorable giraffe, from To The Moon, onto SU Very Vanilla cs twice.  I coloured one of them with my copics, and cut the other out using my circle nestabilities.  I added a little doodling around the edges of the circle as well.  The scarf was stamped onto a piece of the dp, then cut out and mounted onto the giraffe!

The kraft panel was run through my die cutter with the Cuttlebug Seeing Spots folder.  The sentiment is part of the To The Moon set, and it was cut out using the First Place Ribbon die-namic from My Favorite Things.

The paper is from A Happy Heart by My Minds Eye.  I love the rich colours in this pack!  To finish it off, I added the Rose Red double stitched ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by today!

paper - kraft, very vanilla, a happy heart (my minds eye)

Challenge Week #52

Can you believe it?  This year's Christmas Card Challenge is over!!  It has been an awesome 6 months working with a great team!  I have been honoured to be a part of it!

Sadly, this is my last card as a member of Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge Design Team.  This week, the challenge was to use Vellum.

I started by printing out this adorable Santa Bear from Anita Be Stampin.  He was coloured in using copic markers, then "fussy cut".

This fabulous layout is Jen's Deconstructed Sketch #28.  The vellum snowflake was cutout using my snowflake nestabilities, and the button was added from my stash.  The paper is all from the Twelve Days of Christmas by My Minds Eye.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

stamps - santa bear (anita be stampin')
paper - kraft, real red, 12 days of christmas (my minds eye)

It's release day at Stamp Fairy!

This week.....more Christmas images!

This is Molly, and Gerda created some more adorable winter scenes with her!  I started by printing her out onto some SU Whisper White cs and colouring her in with my copics.

I cut her out using my nestabilities, and then doodled around the edges.  The paper I used is Crate Paper Snow Day.

This post is short....so if you are in the middle of Black Friday shopping, go ahead and get right back to it!

Have a great weekend!

Patches...

Good Morning!  Hope this finds you all preparing for a great week!  For my American friends, it's a short one, with Thanksgiving just 2 days away!  Up here in the north, we just reap the benefits of your Black Friday sales, and watching football ALL DAY Thursday.  I am looking forward to the football!  As for the shopping, I'll be doing mine from in front of my computer!

I have yet another Christmas card to share with you.  This is Patches, one of the newest members of the Stamp Fairy family.

I printed Patches out onto SU Whisper White CS, and then coloured him in with my copics.  Then, I added some glossy accents to the candy cane for a little bit of shine!

The layout is pretty simple, with all the papers coming from the Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly line.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Something Magical About Winter

Wow!  That weekend sure did fly by!  Hope you all were able to sit down and enjoy a little of it!

This week, the challenge at the Christmas Card Challenge Blog was to use Black and White.

I started by pulling out my snowflake nestabilites and cutting the largest one out using SU Whisper White cs.  I then covered it with glue and poured on the SU Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  While that mess was drying, I pulled out Wonderful Winter Wishes, from There She Goes.

The sentiment was stamped onto some Whisper White cs that I had cut out using the File Tab Die-namic from My Favorite Things.

The paper is from Making Memories Black & White.  The layout is the Mojo Monday Sketch #215.
On the inside, I added some of the designer paper, and another sentiment from the set.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Good Morning!  Happy Sunny Friday!

Today, we have more holiday images from Stamp Fairy....can you believe that Christmas is only like 6 weeks away!

This is Little Tommy, and he is getting ready for Santa!  I started by printing Tommy onto SU Whisper White cs, then colored him in with my copics.  After cutting him out with my nestabilities, I added some doodling around the edges and some Smooch Illuminate to the fur on his hat and coat!

The papers I used are all from the SU Ski Slope collection.....which is almost gone!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Enjoy!

And we're back...

to Christmas cards! It was a short break, I know, but 'tis the season!

This card is based on the Viva La Verve November Week 1 sketch.

I started out by stamping the images, from Merry Wishes, onto SU Whisper White cs, then colouring them in with my copics.  Then, they were cut out using my circle nestabilities.
The paper is Ski Slope, an old pack of paper from SU! that is almost gone!  It's amazing how long it can take one to use up hoards of paper! (which actually includes selling it too!)

I finished the card off with some Real Red ribbon, and some doodling around the edges.

Thanks for stopping by today!

A Thankful Blast from the Past!

Good Morning!  Can you believe that November is half over??  It'll be Christmas before we know it!

I have taken a little break from my Christmas Cards to play in the Taylored Expressions Blast From the Past Blog Hop.  These hops are so perfect to make sure I get out that rubber that hasn't gotten much lovin' lately!

The theme this month was "thankful", and since you can't EVER have enough thank you cards...

I pulled out Summer Afternoon, which I haven't used in forever!  I coloured the image with my SU markers, in Rich Razzleberry and Lucky Limeade, then stamped it onto Kraft cardstock.  The butterfly was stamped in Melon Mambo ink.  I then cut the image out using my square nestabilities, and then traved around the edges for some detail.

I flipped the sketch to make it work for my image!   The papers I used are from the My Minds Eye Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky collection.  I am so happy with how this card turned out!  I think I'll have to make a few more of this one!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Remember to check the list out at the end of this post, and hop through the blogs for a chance to win some TE goodies!

Have a great day!

Thanks a bunch!

Good Afternoon!

I am really, I mean really, going to try to get all the Viva La Verve sketches in this month.  I have said it many times, and it just hasn't happened.  I am going to stick to getting them done this month!

A friend asked me to make a thank you card for her, and after seeing the gorgeous Week 2 sketch for November, this is what I came up with!

I started with one of my favourite Verve sets, Bloom & Grow.  The flowers were stamped in So Saffron and More Mustard, then cut out using the Floral Circles Die, also from Verve.  The leaves were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black, then cut out using the Elegant Leaves Die.

The papers are from my SU So Saffron dsp, and Making Memories Black and White.  I added some drawn lines around some of the panels for extra detail.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Now, get out and enjoy the sunshine!

Christmas Card Challenges - Week 50

Wow....week 50!  That means there are only two more weeks in this year's Christmas Card Challenge!

This week, the challenge was to use Holly/Wreaths.  I found a gorgeous stamp I had bought last year, and hadn't seen ink.

This is Door with Wreath, a Mo Manning image from Stamping Bella.  I started by stamping the image onto SU Very Vanilla cs, then colouring it in with my copics.  I used some glossy accents and SU Dazzling Diamonds glitter to look like the snow.

The layout was kept super simple, as the image is such a standout.  The paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Mitten Weather.

Thanks for stopping by today!

supplies
stamps - door with wreath (stamping bella)
paper - kraft, chocolate chip, very vanilla, mitten weather (cosmo cricket)

We Wish You A....

Merry Christmas!  I know it seems so early for it....but we woke up to white this morning!  It looks so pretty....but I was so not ready for it at the same time!

Along with the theme of snow, Stamp Fairy has released some more great Christmas images.

This is Lenny, and he has some Christmas Scenes for you today!

I started by printing Lenny out onto some SU Whisper White CS.  I colored it in with my copics, then added shading, and finally some glittery snow, with SU Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

The sentiment is a freebie included today!

Thanks for stopping by today.

W - Winter Sports

Good Morning!

This week, Stamp Fairy is sponsoring the ABC Christmas Challenge.  The letter is "W", and the theme is winter sports.

Since Barry appeared ready to hit the ski slopes, he is the image I went with!  I started by printing him out onto SU Whisper White cs, then colored him in with my copics.  After cutting him out with my rectangle nestabilities, I added some Sugar Sparkly Fluff so it would look like Barry was standing in the snow!

The papers are from the Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly line.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

supplies
stamps - barry winter (stamp fairy)
paper - kraft, melon mambo, whisper white, jolly by golly (cosmo cricket)

He Really Does Exist!

Good Morning!  It's a chilly, but sunny Sunday morning here, and we seemed to have avoided the unnecessarily early wakeup from the kids.  Thankfully, it is Sunday, and a day of leave raking, then football should tire them out as well, and maybe a good nap could be in store!

This week we had a sketch challenge at Christmas Card Challenges.  Sketches are such a great way for me to get a card started, and finished in good time!

I decided to flip the sketch, to make it work with my image, Define Good, from the Cat's Pajamas.  I just love this little bunny!  He was stamped onto SU Whisper White cs, then coloured with copics.  I added some liquid applique to his hat, then cut him out with my rectangle nestabilities.

The papers are all from the Bo Bunny Winter Joy collection.  I love the non-traditional colours!  The sentiment was added using the File Tab Die-namic from My Favorite Things, and then I added some buttons for the final touch!

Thanks for stopping by today!

supplies
stamps - define good (the cat's pajamas)
paper - elegant eggplant, whisper white, winter joy (bo bunny)

Digital Scrapbooking Day!

Good Morning!  I'm not sure if you've heard, but today is Digital Scrapbooking Day!  If you read my blog regularly, you might have caught my post from  Wednesday, where I gave the My Memories Suite software a test run.  Seriously, if you've ever considered Digital Scrapbooking, this weekend would be a GREAT weekend to start!  Between sales and coupons,  you could get the software for next to nothing!

My DD had her photo retakes at school today, so that put me in the mood to scrap her school photos from last year!  I know, I am far behind, but again, if you read my post on Wednesday, you would know that I have now made four pages in the last five days, which is more than I have made in the last 4 years!  I'll catch up....I am determined to!

All the components from this page are from the Back to School pack.  I just LOVE how everything comes all perfectly coordinated and matching in the kits!

My layout is a Pagemaps design, from October 2011.  If you want to see some GREAT scrapbooking layouts, check out the Pagemaps site!  There are even digi templates!

Enjoy your Saturday!  May it be a scrappy one!

And I Bring You Friday...

It's just been one of those weeks!  Luckily, the weekend is near, and Stamp Fairy has a super cute new release!

This week's release is called Barry Angel.  I just love Barry!  Between him and Patches, I think I'm set!   I also decided to briefly step away from Christmas cards, and use the versatility of this stamp to make baby cards!

I started by printing Barry onto some SU Whisper White cs, then coloring him in with my copics.  I used Liquid Applique for the cloud, but I didn't heat it, as I actually liked the shiny effect it gave!  His angel wings were given a coat of glossy accents, then SU Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.  The paper is all from the My Minds Eye Lime Twist Fly A Kits collection.

I used a few strips of the DP on the inside of the card, and added some sentiments from the Verve Stamps set, To The Moon,

I couldn't only make one baby card.  What good would it be to only have a little boy card, and not a little girl one?  (Plus I was feeling especially ambitious!)

Barry was coloured and decorated exactly the same as in the previous card.  The papers are from the My Minds Eye Six by Six A Happy Heart collection.

The sentiment is from Verve Stamps To The Moon, and was cut out using the File Tab Die-namic from MFT.

The inside is the same as the boy card, however, just using the girly DP!

Since I used lots of Kraft cardstock, and I haven't entered any challenges lately, I'll drop this one into Jeannie's That's Krafty Thursday #55.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Make sure you head over to the Stamp Fairy Blog to check out all the goodies there!

Have a great day!

My Memories Software Review & a GIVEAWAY!

Good Morning!

Today's post has nothing at all to do with a card!  But please stick around, it will TOTALLY be worth the read!

Use my coupon code: STMMMS46587

I used to be a scrapbooker.  I started one for my DD when she was born, and made many pages.  When my son was born, I had full intentions of starting his scrapbook, but it never happened.  Hopefully there are more of you out there, but for me, in order to create the "perfect" page, I had to have EVERYTHING laid out and matching.  It would end up taking me hours, and the mess, and number of scraps just kept piling up!  And, once you add all your embellishments to your pages, they are so thick you can only fit a few pages into a book.  Needless to say, the last page I created for a scrapbook was in March of 2008, and my son (who was born in Feb 2009) doesn't even have a scrapbook!

This has all changed!  I received an email from My Memories, asking if I would try out the My Memories Suite 2 software and review it.  I totally jumped at the chance, because I did miss scrapbooking a lot, and I have thousands of photos that I wanted to scrap!

In a short time I was able to create three pages.  The kits are INCREDIBLE, and they leave NO MESS on your desk!

It is amazing how organized this software is.  All the kits are sorted, and everything that matches, always seems to be right there where you need it!  The best part is when you download them from My Memories, they are automatically stored within the software, so you don't have to go searching for it when you need it!

I think I might finally started getting caught up with my scrapbooking.  I hadn't touched it in so long, and was actually AGAINST digital scrapbooking at first.  Can you believe it!?  I have now officially been converted!  I've even sold all of my other scrapbooking supplies!

Now, thanks for sticking around to the end.....because if you did, it's time for some giveaways!

Would you like to WIN your own copy of My Memories Suite 2?  One lucky reader will win their own copy of this amazing software!  Here's what you need to do:

Go to the My Memories website.  Take a peek at all the kits there are.  Leave me a comment with the name of your FAVOURITE kit!  (or if you're like me, one of your favourites!  One of mine is That's What Boys Are Made of!)
I'll draw a winner one week from today, Wednesday November 9 at 9pm EST.

There is also a prize for EVERYONE!!  Use my personal code: STMMMS46587

Everyone can use this code for $10 off your My Memories Suite 2 software purchase, and $10 off a purchase from the My Memories store!  How sweet is that!

If you've been wanting to try digital scrapbooking, definitely give it a shot, I am so glad I did! It's fast, easy, and the best part, FUN!
